How to write longer documents

At some point in school, you will have to write a longer paper. Often times, when you get your first ten or even twenty pages, it can seem like a pretty daunting task, as it's a long time, especially when you've never done anything like this before. Instead of getting frustrated, find out what you can do that will help you write these longer documents.

The first tip is to do your research. You will have to do more research than you think you need to do. You will have to present a variety of topics that can be converted into paragraphs for your work. When writing the article, include the best ones, but keep all the ideas available in case the document is not long enough for you to add them too.

Have a solid outline for your work. Do not start writing the document until it is well outlined. You don't have to be formal about the process. Just write your main points and subpoints. Calculate how much each of these pages will take up. If you have around 10 pages of material for your 10-page paper, start papernow.

Include summaries at the end of your paragraphs and points often. This is an easy way to fill the space. It will lengthen your work and make reading easier, as the reader will remember some of the best points.

Be sure to talk to your teacher about whether things like the bibliography or the cover count as part of the total work. If so, have more fonts to fill some pages. Also, add more quotes on paper as this is something that will lengthen your work.

If the paper is not long enough, read it again. Add a sentence here and there explaining certain thoughts again to meet your page limit.
